I've joined a pedometer challenge for the months of July and August 2015. The way this challenge works is that I get 1 point for each day that I meet my personal daily goal (7,500 steps) and 2 more points for each day that I meet the World Health Organization daily goal of 10,000 steps. I'm posting my results below as an accountability to anyone who wants to track my progress. In case you're interested my normal walking pace is 1200 steps per kilometer so the 10,000 step daily goal works out to just over 8 kilometers or about 5 miles for me. Oh, and because I'm a stats nerd, my average stride is 83.5 cm (32.8 in) and average pace (when walking alone) is 5.7 km/hr (3.6 mi/hr).
Update: to encourage more participation for the end of this challenge, points are doubled starting August 24 and a bonus week is added up to September 7, 2015.
