Mother and Toddler Group

This group meets from 9:30am to 11:30 am each Tuesday morning, during term time, in the Longhorsley Mission side hall.

Regardless of the title of the group, it is not restricted to mothers. Fathers, grandparents and carers may also come along with toddlers in their charge. Indeed they have been doing so, and are always very welcome. While the toddlers play, those adults accompanying them enjoy a chat, tea and coffee and a variety of “eats”. There is no charge for attendance.

After a break of 10 minutes, for juice and biscuits, the final half hour is given to football on the all-weather court and games or craft activities in the Mission hall. As many as 30 children have been meeting regularly and new members are always welcome. There is no charge for attendance.

Walking Group

We are a social walking group and meet on the 1st Monday and 3rd Thursday each month.

We used to meet at 10am in the Shoulder of Mutton car park to organise car sharing, but during the Covid pandemic we meet up at the place the walk begins.

Walks are usually 4 to 6 miles long.

Afterwards there is often the option of lunch together, during the Covid pandemic this is usually a picnic lunch.

A drink and energy snack should be carried on the walks.

Details of each walk are published in the Longhorsley Tree.

Christian Vision for Men

This activity is locally organised by a group of men from churches in the area, including Longhorsley Mission.
A
Men’s Breakfast is arranged on the last Saturday of each month at 8:30am in the Anglers Arms, Weldon Bridge.
As many as 40 men have been meeting regularly together on these occasions to enjoy a full English breakfast, lots of chat and banter - and black pudding!
This is followed by a talk, generally from a speaker with a Christian background, with lively discussion.
Numbers have grown steadily since the group started in 2008 and the folk at the Angler’s Arms have looked after us very well
Other local CVM activities include walks, tours and discussion evenings. All men are welcome.
There is a £9 charge for each attendance, to cover the cost of breakfast.
