LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCES POETRY OUT LOUD CONTEST

Lincoln High School announces its school contest for Poetry Out Loud, a national recitation contest, which will take place on February 26th at 3:30 pm in room 169. The competition, presented in partnership with the Oregon Arts Commission, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Poetry Foundation, is part of a national program that encourages high school students to learn about great poetry through memorization, performance, and competition. School, regional and state contests lead to the National Finals on April 27-29 in Washington, DC, where $50,000 in awards and school stipends will be distributed to contest winners. Want to learn more? If so, visithttp://www.poetryoutloud.org, come to a speech and debate meeting in the library at 3:30 on Wednesdays and/or email jowen@pps.net to get more details and sign up by our school’s deadline of Feb. 12th.
