The LHS Speech and Debate team is part of the Portland Interscholastic League, competing alongside teams from across Portland Public Schools. Our students travel throughout Oregon—and sometimes beyond—to compete in high-level Speech and Debate tournaments, sharpening their skills in public speaking, argumentation, and critical thinking.

Your donations help us give every student the chance to compete and succeed. Contributions fund scholarships for students who cannot afford team dues, provide snacks and supplies at tournaments and practices, and allow us to bring in assistant coaches to help our students grow as confident, skilled competitors.
