In his early 70s, Paul McCartney is still active as a musician, touring all over the world.
But in May 2014, he had to cancel all the concerts in Japan, because of virus related illness.
I felt relieved to know he was recovering well.
In Japan, some people think Paul does not like Japan very much, because of the marijuana-related incident in Tokyo in 1980 and the reported feud with Yoko Ono.
But it was nice to see Paul on TV expressly denying the allegation that Yoko broke up the Beatles.
When we talk about the Beatles, we tend to ask, "who is your favorite Beatle?"
My answer is John Lennon.
But many of the songs Paul wrote for the Beatles are magic.
"Eleanor Rigby", "Fool on the Hill", "Hey Jude", "Blackbird", "Get Back", "The Long And Winding Road"...
After the breakup of the Beatles, Paul has continued to create great music.
"Tug of War" probably tops of the list of his solo albums.
Produced by George Martin and released in 1982, the album is full of energy and inspiration.
Especially, the title track and "Wanderlust" are masterpieces.
"Here Today" is dedicated to John.
But I think the whole album is dedicated to him.
Paul plans to perform in Japan in April 2015.
Thank you very much for the great music, Paul.
See you in Tokyo then.
