Kinnersley and District Group Parish council is one of 91 Hereford Parishes which are working, or have worked to produce a Parish Plan. Recent Legislation has made increasingly important the influence of local people on local matters. The 5th public meeting was held in Norton Canon Community Hall on 17th March to share the 35 objectives researched and drawn together over a two year period. The objectives reflected the views of more than three quarters of the parishioners who responded to the Parish Questionnaire and "Planning for Real Events. The plan throws light on the issues parishioners want to see tackled over the next ten years. Some of these objectives can be tackled quickly and at little cost, save volunteer time and energy. Other objectives will take longer, involve greater research and cannot be delivered without some agreed cost to the community.
The next step is for the Parish Council along with members of the Parish Plan Steering Group to seek the expert help from parishioners, particularly those who volunteered their services, but it is open to all, to launch the next stage of the plan and begin the delivery of actions that will help achieve the objectives that were felt to be important. This is of course THE vital part in achieving CHANGE
The Objectives and the minutes of the meeting can be seen on the Kinnersley and District Group Website under Parish Plan, or a hard copy can be obtained from Ruth Lovelace, , Tel 01544 318138. The parish plan itself is under production and should be available soon both in hard copy and on line.
Thanks to every one who has taken part so far, and particularly to the children for their help.
ONWARDS AND UPWARDS - in the hope we can be one of the Parish Plans that achieves its' objectives..
