ER Day 104

Today we will:

Watch a movie about someone who has downs syndrome

Reach Chapter 21 of "The Wizard of Oz"

Take a timed math facts test (Set the timer for 1 min and work until it rings. You should be able to do 36 problems with zero mistakes in one minute to move up to the next test)

Play a math facts game (this should be the same set of facts you are testing on tomorrow)

Watch some movies about how things are made (Click on "How People Make Things" and watch at least 3 of the movies)

Take a quiz about American Symbols

Learn about Billy Joel (Note to adult: I was very limited in my choices of pop music because many music videos of pop music had lyrics or images that were very inappropriate for children. I tried to pick well-known, long-established musicians as examples. Feel free to have your child listen to your favorite pop music.)

Learn when to add -er to comparative adjectives

Practice reading a Fahrenheit thermometer to the degree

Make ice cream in a bag

You will need:

Printer and paper

Pen or pencil

Gallon sized ziploc bag

Sandwich sized ziploc bag

1 tbsp sugar

1/4 tsp vanilla

1/2 c milk or half-and-half

6 tbsp rock salt (table salt will work, but it takes quite a lot more than 6 tbsp)

ice cubes
