Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (October 2, 1869 - January 30, 1948) was the preeminent leader of the Indian independence movement in British-ruled India. Ghandi attended the University College London, UCL Faculty of Laws and Samaldas Arts College. He was assassinated by Nathuram Vinayak Godse, a Hindu nationalist on 30 January 1948. Godse shot Gandhi three times in the chest at point blank range outside of the Birla House in New Delhi.
