Watch these videos of the ISE II exam. Then listen to the audio exercises below.
EXAMPLES
Remember: The first time you will be asked to say in one or two sentences what the listening is about. The second time you will be asked to give more specific and detailed information. You can take notes.
TURBINES (first two videos above: the examiner will say, "You’re going to hear a talk about renewable energy. You will hear the talk twice. The first time, just listen. Then I’ll ask you to tell me generally what the speaker is talking about.Are you ready?’’
The examiner will play the recording. After the recording has played once, the examiner will ask you:
"Can you tell me in one or two sentences what the speaker was talking about?" You answer.
Then the examiner will hand you some notepaper and say: ‘Now listen to the talk again. This time make some notes as you listen, if you want to. Then I’ll ask you what reasons the speaker gives for and against the use of wind energy. Are you ready?’
Take notes. After the recording has played for a second time, the examiner will say: "Now tell me what reasons the speaker gives for and against the use of wind energy.. You have one minute to talk."
LIES (last video above, included below): After the second listening, the examiner will say, "Now tell me, what suggestions and advice does the speaker give about how to tell if someone is lying? You have one minute to talk."
