Flower Power
Flower Power
I have been compulsively painting flowers since I was a little girl. After all, it seems obvious to one's nature to explore the shape of a flower.

Have you ever looked at a flower in the eye?

When I do, I am always admired by the depth of her form. Her logarithmic beauty, auric imbalance and irrational wisdom. It is to me mesmerizing how she only lets you see a small part of what she is and yet... you are quickly captivated by her eye and the petals that guide your pupil into hers. When you look inside her center, you can see a universe explode and implode after every blink of an eye.

I paint flowers because it makes me happy. I love the unpredictability of pushing the paint through each circle and curve. You can only control the narrative up to a certain point, since the canvas, the texture of the pigment, the brush and your environment interact in the motion and contribute to the story of each petal, each ovary, each receptacle and each stigma.

This year my work is inspired by the shape of flowers and it is dedicated to all those people who explored, explore and will explore flowers, and also to all those people who encourage them, cheer for them... and who, when invited, join and share the melody of this powerful cosmic vibration.

When you see these flowers on the canvas, don't be shy! Enjoy their pigment. Wonder about their mood; their story. Get closer... closer even. Listen to them, and if they invite you, touch them softly!

Enjoy!
