Lakelands Fishery, Roosky

This is a delightful day-ticket fishery for discerning anglers set on a peaceful 15-acre

site near to the village of Roosky and open all year round. There are three well

established lakes all brimming with carp (up to 30lb), quality tench, bream, hybrids,

roach and perch. Heron Lake is the largest with 60 pegs and is a favourite both with

match and pleasure anglers. Mallard has a reputation as the specimen fish water,

while Kingfisher is perfect for pole anglers because it canalised with an island at 13

metres.

Best baits: Sweetcorn, red maggot, bread, pellets, worm and casters

Popular methods: Pole fishing is most popular but the waggler works well

Access: Very good with large private car park and short walks

Directions: From Roosky cross over the bridge travelling towards Strokestown,

drive through the village and take the first left towards Tarmonbarry. The fishery is
