LPMS, or Laboratoire de Physique Mathématique et Physique Subatomique, is one of Algeria’s most respected laboratories for theoretical physics research. Its areas of focus include mathematical physics, nuclear physics, quantum computing, and high-energy theoretical physics. At LPMPS, the world’s most significant and cutting-edge fundamental physics topics are addressed using a variety of advanced scientific tools, such as instruments, software, and more.
The primary goal of our laboratory is to train students so that they acquire a solid foundation in fundamental physics. By studying areas such as elementary particle physics, radiation physics, and medical physics, our students are equipped to become physicists capable of integrating into the research community or the industrial sector, becoming valuable assets in both domains.
Founded in 2000 and located at the heart of Mentouri University in Constantine, Algeria, the Laboratoire de Physique Mathématique et Physique Subatomique has trained numerous physicists who have made significant contributions to, and continue to shape, the field of theoretical physics research. The laboratory has been awarded several times as an "Excellence Pole." Today, it stands as a world-class leading physics laboratory, evidenced by the organization and presentation of its researchers’ work at several international conferences. The most recent was The Tenth International Conference on High Energy and Astroparticle Physics (TIC-HEAP), held in Constantine, Algeria, in 2019.
