Through the continued practice of yoga, we invite ourselves to live in our body with freedom and ease, releasing old tension habits in body and mind while alleviating associated pain, discomfort and stress. This opens the door to greater clarity of our human experience and the limitless potential we are capable of cultivating within ourselves. It is my belief that yoga is a practice that is beneficial both on and off the mat.
Mindful yoga is a meditative approach to yoga, blending the wisdom of Alignment Yoga with qualities of mindful awareness to guide students in the discovery of renewed connection and gentle release of tension patterns. Through continued practice, students develop strength, flexibility and balance in body and mind.
The All Levels Mindful Yoga classes are designed for students with various degrees of yoga experience, including those brand new to yoga. Foundational poses and pre-yoga strengthening exercises are taught in progressions so you can work from a place that feels right for you, making it an accessible option for folks who can easily move from floor to standing and vice versa! Please bring a mat and a folded blanket. All other props will be available.
Suitable for all levels of experience, Hybrid Yoga incorporates a combination of chair & floor practice, along with mindful awareness, for a well-rounded, balanced practice of renewed discovery & re-patterning of compensatory habits. Hybrid Yoga allows students to access yoga poses more efficiently & safely, by waking up & engaging muscles that can go offline over the course of time. Although students should be able to move from floor to standing & vice versa, there is no requirement to be weight bearing on wrists or knees.
Mindful Strength blends yoga poses, self-inquiry, strength training (using resistance bands & internal resistance techniques) & joyful movement for enhancing agility. When we feel strong & confident in our bodies, we become more resilient in other areas of our life as well. This class is for anyone desiring a safe, accessible way to support a strong, healthy body & mind! Registration fee includes your own resistance band to keep - available for pick up or drop off.
Through gentle & encouraging guidance, students will explore select exercises & yoga postures designed to engage & strengthen stabilizing muscles for enhanced balance and functional mobility. All levels of experience welcome including those new to yoga.
While group yoga classes are an effective way of learning and practicing, yoga remains an entirely personal practice. There are times when one's practice and growth may be best served in a one-on-one setting. You might consider a private session if:
* group classes seem overwhelming or intimidating, or classes simply do not fit your schedule
* you are working with an imbalance, injury, limitation, or health condition that makes participation in a group class challenging
* you would like to address the finer points of specific poses
* you would like guidance establishing a tailored home practice through a step-by-step process

I completed my 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher training through Alignment Yoga of Madison, WI, in December 2013 and August 2017 respectively, studying with Andrea Russell and Scott Anderson. Through this journey, I continually strengthen and transform my personal understanding, practice and embodiment of yoga through daily home practice, weekly classes with my primary teachers, and continuing education hours that are required by Yoga Alliance. It is a joy and honor to share yoga with others as I witness my students discover freedom and reawakening in body and mind through this timeless practice.
