Welcome.
I am a Full Professor at UAM Azcapotzalco, specializing in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. My academic foundation includes a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Computer Science, underpinned by a B.S. in Applied Mathematics. Driven by this blend of mathematics and computing, my research integrates bio-inspired metaheuristics, statistical pattern recognition, and machine learning architectures to advance computational imaging and develop innovative algorithmic solutions.
My contributions to the scientific community have earned me recognition as a National Researcher (SNII Level 1) and the PRODEP desirable profile in Mexico. I maintain an active international presence through my memberships in the IEEE, ACM, and SMIA. One of the highlights of my career was serving as Dean for the NASA LUNABOTICS competition, where I had the privilege of bridging academic theory with cutting-edge applied robotics engineering.
Throughout my career, I have focused on expanding the boundaries of my field and mentoring the next generation of researchers:
Scientific Output: Published 76 internationally indexed papers and presented extensively at technical conferences worldwide.
Teaching & Mentorship: Delivered over 130 undergraduate and graduate courses and supervised numerous doctoral, master’s, and engineering theses.
Community Contribution: Actively serve the scientific ecosystem as a technical reviewer for high-impact journals and international conference committees.
Unique Life
Be as happy as you can, oh king Tecayehyatzin
You who appreciates the jewels that flourish!
Will we live again?
Your heart knows this:
We only live once!
