in regards to those of us in the runner's bandwagon, it might help to understand the beginner mindset a little:
ye gods, that must suck. the observation above is probably obvious to most .. but for a (former) runner, what is written below is probably taken for granted.
it makes me wonder how often runners are viewed as high-&-mighty elitists.
(i already worry enough about what rock climbing is doing to the world.)
i don't really proselytise much about running anymore .. but it's good to know that when i did, i was essentially convincing people to undergo some kind of masochism.
the more i think about it, the more i wonder if running is a kind of cult .. not that i'm going to stop anytime soon, but it's always best to be honest about things.
