Abstract: This study on the impact of gender violence on children presents data from focus groups with children, mothers and professionals, interviews with young people and fathers, and answers to open-ended questions addressed to mothers, young people and practitioners. Findings show that the effects on children were serious, lasted for several years, and social services were informed late. Analyses are made of children’s coping strategies, relationships, and the difficulties in repairing the damage. Recommendations for improvements, including effective child participation, are also made.

Keywords: Gender Violence; Child Participation; Stakeholders’ Perspective; Social Services, Impact.
