It began in 2004. I needed an art class to complete some University transfer requirements. I decided to take photography. That same spring I bought myself a Minolta Maxxum 7000 35mm film SLR from a good friend Mike Ryan. You can see his site at Mike's Photo Space. That was when I fell in love with photography. In 2011, I decided to go digital after many years using a point and shoot digital and a pro camera with a company that I worked with. Below you will find some reviews on my cameras, and shots that I'm particularly fond of.
In 1985 Minolta introduced a ground breaking 35mm SLR with their then all-new Maxxum series of AutoFocus cameras. Although it was not the first autofocus camera, it was the first successful AF system on the market. It was with this camera that I started my foray into the world of photography.
There are times when a point and shoot will suffice for what you are doing. Nikon has a long history of point and shoot cameras, I'm quite fond of the Coolpix family of cameras. Here's a little bit about mine.
When Konica Minolta decided to leave the camera industry in 2006, they sold their technology to a company that they had been doing business with since the late 1990's, SONY. The Alpha series is the result of the continuation of Minolta's technology into the 21st century. The Sony Alpha 230 is my first dSLR, and as I learn more about it, I will keep sharing.
I'll be compiling pointers and tips to help you improve your photography, a lot of my experience was in Black and White film, I'm slowly moving into the world of digital photography, and as I learn more about that aspect, I will be sharing that with you.
