Hi, my name is Juan Castellón! I first started building websites in the year 2001 to fulfill a requirement for a high school senior project in order to graduate from Whittier High School in beautiful Uptown Whittier! Here you will find a collection about things that interest me. I hope that you find a common interest in the things that I enjoy, and if you have any tips to share with me, please contact me at: jfc1984@gmail.com
The world we live in is full of things for us to see, many of these places and things change over time, so it's always good to be able to capture it in photography. In 2004 I bought myself my very first 35mm film SLR camera, it was a 1986 Minolta Maxxum 7000 which was, after an unfortunate accident, replaced by a 1985 Minolta Maxxum 7000. These are the cameras I learned the basics of photography with, and I still use the Maxxum 7000 in the year 2022.
Throughout their existence Minolta brought forth many firsts to the world of photography. The Maxxum 7000 was a revolution in photography, since it brought to the masses many things that we take for granted in cameras today.
The shot to the left is of my Nikon Coolpix 5600, which is used for ebay listings and craigslist advertisements.
I recently bought a Sony Alpha A230 and will be including photos of it and a review of my experience so far with it.
The land of the rising sun has intrigued me for a very long time. I was fortunate enough to visit in the beginning of September 2011, and hope to visit again soon. On this site I hope to be able to share with others what I learn about Japanese culture and also about the Japanese language. If you are a beginning student and need help, please don't hesitate to send me a message. Check out the link in the navigation bar for what will (hopefully) grow into a collection of helpful hints and tips to help you improve in Japanese.
March 11, 2011 was a horrible day for Japan, they were rocked by a 9.0 earthquake which unleashed a tsunami which laid waste to many low lying coastal towns on the the East Coast of the country, and created the worst nuclear accident in the World since Chernobyl. If you haven't already donated to one of the organizations that are involved in the recovery process of Japan. Please consider buying the iTunes compilation of Songs for Japan. I have added links to many of these pages. This will serve a threefold purpose. It will help out your author add some pennies to his "Help the Japanese Tourism Industry Fund", it will help rebuild the Tohoku region, and you'll get that feel good sensation of helping somebody out by buying something you'll enjoy.
While I have your attention, why don't you see about getting a good deal to travel abroad? Southern Japan is very nice in the Fall!
My very first computer was given to me in 1998. It is a little Macintosh SE that was 10 years old at the time. In the spring of 2001, I earned an iMac after doing yard work for my grandma. In the autumn of 2002, that iMac gave up the ghost, and was later replaced by a Blue and White G3, and later by a Quicksilver G4. I am an advocate for UNIX based OSes, and the Mac is one of the best ones out there. If you need a reason to switch to Mac, drop me a line. The Mac is and has always been superior to the PC. Linux, a not too distant relative to MacOS X is also a great operating system that can run on just about any hardware, I highly recommend you give it a try!
If I didn't like web design, now I wouldn't have a website, would I? Every day I try to learn more so that I can make my sites look better. Even though for this site, I am using a template, the content is being added via the HTML edit option. I find it faster to type <em>word</em> to italicize a word, rather than mousing up to an "I" to italicize my text. In 2002, I built a list of tips for budding web masters. Although the internet is constantly changing, the list I compiled is still relevant. I will be posting that page shortly.
The most important compilation of Sacred Writ ever compiled. The very foundation of who I am and what I do. Read it online!
Examining the Scriptures Daily. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society annually print a small booklet that has a Bible Scripture and a comment to it, in order to help Japanese learners, I'll be including the Japanese version along with an explanation, here.
