Jenifer Grady, MSLS, MBA, CAE, is currently the Executive Director of Tenn-Share, a statewide consortium that secures discounts on electronic and print materials for more than 600 member libraries. Ms. Grady is the first full-time employee of the trade association/non-profit, and has within her purview management and customer service responsibilities for administrative, membership, subscription account, and event-planning, as well as a statewide courier contract that began in 2013. She coordinates and updates policies, procedures and processes as she quantifies and expands member benefits. She has implemented a membership management system, one of several systems she has overseen the adoption of during her career. Ms. Grady began her association management career after completing business school at Case Western Reserve University in her home city of Cleveland, Ohio, becoming the first director of a 501(c)6 advocacy and certification-granting organization under the umbrella of the American Library Association.
Ms. Grady’s managerial skills are valuable in arenas large and small, and across association disciplines. Ms. Grady enjoys the challenging and entrepreneurial aspects of her career, performed in academic medical, nonprofit and governmental settings. She is adept, attentive, and actively engaged when managing all aspects of an office, membership relations, and fulfilling Board expectations.
Although she is from Cleveland, Ms. Grady considers Nashville and Chicago her second and third homes. She is committed to her community, serving on the Board of Our Kids and volunteering with organizations related to her professional and personal interests. She took her Master’s of Business Degree from the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University and her Master’s of Science Degree in Library Science from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She has been an ASAE Certified Association Executive since 2008. She is an ASAE Diversity Executive Leadership Program Scholar, and completed a fellowship at the National Library of Medicine. She serves on the Board of Our Kids, Inc., a middle-Tennessee clinic providing services to children who may have been sexually abused and their families.
