Sports Training I and II

Course description (open grades 9-12):

SPORTS TRAINING I

Description: This course is intended for student athletes to develop personal strength, fitness, and skills related to their

specific sport. Students will participate in aerobic and anaerobic activities, plyometrics, core training, and power

exercises for quickness, agility, coordination, and explosiveness. This course is designed to improve sport specific skills

and will emphasize cardiovascular fitness, weight control, speed, power, agility, and flexibility. Register for course

corresponding with desired term. This Sports Training course will be offered during the 1st Trimester and will have a

winter sports emphasis. Basketball and Hockey for both boys and girls will be the primary areas of focus.

SPORTS TRAINING II

Description: This course is intended for student athletes to develop personal strength, fitness, and skills related to their

specific sport. Students will participate in aerobic and anaerobic activities, plyometrics, core training, and power

exercises for quickness, agility, coordination, and explosiveness. This course is designed to improve sport specific skills

and will emphasize cardiovascular fitness, weight control, speed, power, agility, and flexibility. Register for course

corresponding with desired term. This Sports Training course will be offered during the 2nd Trimester and will have a

spring sports emphasis. Baseball, softball, Lacrosse, and Track will be the primary areas of focus.
