Date: 05/11/2013

2.7 mile loop through grassland and old orchards around a historical estate - home of Fremont Older, a crusading San Francisco newspaper editor and his wife, Cora, built in 1914. On clear days, San Francisco and Mount Tamalpais are visible to the north, Mount Hamilton to the east, the Santa Cruz Mountains to the west, and Mount Umunhum (the Ohlone Indian word for "resting place of the hummingbird") to the south. Grassland, coyote brush, oaks, walnuts, squirrels, rabbits, hawks.
