Illness/Medication Policy

Little Giggles Daycare is not responsible for any communicable disease acquired while a child is attending the daycare. If a child shows any signs or symptoms of infection, the child may not attend the daycare until he/she is free from symptoms of infection and/or illness, medicated with prescribed antibiotics and/or free of fever for at least 24 hours, or a release has been obtained from a physician. If your child does acquire an illness, we ask that you let us know immediately. This will allow us to inform other families of possible symptoms to watch for in their children.

Sick children cannot be admitted to Little Giggles Daycare. If a child becomes ill during the day, they will be separated from the other children and the parents will be notified to pick them up within one hour from the time of the call. This is to protect the other children from becoming sick. Sick children include a child that shows signs of: fever of 100 or above, persistent crying, difficult breathing, diarrhea, vomiting, mouth sores, rash, pink eye, MRSA outbreak, head lice, chicken pox, shingles, mumps, hepatitis A, measles or rubella.

We must have a copy of your child's vaccine/immunization card which must be kept updated at all times. Medication authorization forms must be completed for us to administer anything, including Tylenol, Desitin and sunscreen. All prescription medicines must be in their original container and have the child's name on it.

In case of emergency, we will administer the necessary first aid required. Paramedics will be called and your child will be transported to the hospital as indicated on the authorization form. You will be notified as soon as possible. All costs due to emergency treatment and/or ambulance is your responsibility. You will be notified when an emergency caregiver will be used and may be requested to pick up your child if one cannot be found.

If your child will not be attending Little Giggles Daycare due to illness, a notice must be given. Failure to notify Lyle or Tina will result in a full payment of the time missed. Only exception will be for emergency situations only.
