Inactive/Active Patients

When you are signed out patients, you may often have >10 patients assigned to you. Overnight, the list may swell to 20+. We used to have an 'Active patients' tracker on Meditech.

At our request, Epic has come up with a solution. It allows you to gray out 'inactive patients' so that you may more clearly see the patients you are actively dealing with. You get to determine who is active simply by designating them as so. Great examples would include keeping active the psych patients with an uncontrolled glucose or the verge of DTs but graying out the young, healthy patient awaiting transfer.

The graying out still allows you to read the details of the patient on the tracker. Please watch the video below for a more detailed explanation of the process.
