Whitney Houston
The American singer Whitney Houston was born on August 9, 1963 in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up in a highly musical environment. The mother is the famous gospel singer Cissy Houston. Singer Dionne Warwick is her cousin. And her godmother is the famous soul and rhythm-and-blues singer Aretha Franklin.
Whitney began singing in church and at the age of eleven she became a member of a gospel choir. Having performed with her mother for some time, she was soon able to make her first album "Whitney Houston" (1985), which became a huge success and was followed by more successful albums and a completely magnificent career.
She also acted in several films. Her debut was in "The Bodyguard" (1992), in which she starred with Kevin Costner.
In 1992 she married the rhythm-and-blues singer Bobby Brown and had a daughter the following year. The marriage deteriorated with time and Whitney was abused by her husband and was drawn into a serious drug addiction, something that created headlines. Her career was about to end, but Whitney divorced from her husband and managed for a time to leave the drugs and come back as an artist.
However, on February 11, 2012, she was found dead, drowned in the bathtub, in a suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. She may have accidentally drowned, though probably in combination with the use of drugs. News of her death featured prominently in American and international media.

Prominent signs are Aries, Leo and Virgo. We get the image of the independent, motivated and ambitious but also meticulous and hard-working artist. The Sun shines in its own sign Leo in conjunction with Venus which gives a clear image of the female artist who loves to appear on stage. The placement in the Sun-ruled Sixth House suggests that her everyday life was filled with the spotlight of her glorious career. The Sun and Venus in Leo form a trine with the Moon in conjunction with Jupiter in Aries in the First House. Both the Sun as the Moon/Jupiter form further trines to the Jupiter-ruled Midheaven in Sagittarius.
It was Whitney's mother (her Moon), gospel singer Cissy Houston, who acted as her mentor and guide (Jupiter) when it came to shape her career (the Midheaven) and stage performances (Sun and Venus in Leo). The Moon also rules, via Cancer, the Fifth House of creativity and self-expression, where is also the North Lunar node..
The Ascendant is in sensitive and artistic Pisces and forms a trine with the Ascendant and horoscope ruler Neptune, who is in Scorpio in the Eighth House. One may wonder what Chiron in Pisces in conjunction with the Ascendant may mean, what kind of wound or pain it reflected in her life. Chiron is in opposition to Pluto and Mercury in the Seventh House. That Whitney Houston came to experience a stormy and tumultuous marriage can be implied by the planets Mars and Pluto is in the Seventh House.
Her tragic death is indicated in the chart by the Ascendant ruler Neptune (drowning, drugs) in the Water sign Scorpio in her Eighth House of death.
