The title is a quote from the Civil War Monument on the Village Common in Cabot. David Book, former principal and teacher at Cabot School, did extensive research at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. He visited 15 national cemeteries, where many of the 41 soldiers from Cabot, who died in the war, are buried. He researched newspapers, letters and journals to document life in Cabot during the Civil War. Appendices identify all Cabot Civil War soldiers. 180 pages. Book may be purchased from the author, J.
