In 2006 I became involved with the Hellaby Community Project and in 2007 I started the village newsletter which is released every month to update the villagers on important news and matters. I am also actively involved with the gardening group which keeps the communal flowerbeds on the Barrie Grove playing field looking tidy.
I have represented Hellaby on Bramley Parish Council since 2006 gaining experience in council matters and procedures. I was keen to see Hellaby with it's own Parish Council and now will do the best I can for our local community.
In Nov 2011, I started a Craft Club which is very relaxed and friendly and is now a regular Monday meeting.
I hope community activities go from strength to strength in the coming year. Lots have been planned so keep an eye on the newsletter or website. I have lived in Hellaby since 1975 and brought up the youngest of our daughters here. For more than 20 years before I retired I taught both school leavers and mature students in the Confectionary Department at Sheffield College. I am a Judge for the British Sugarcraft Guild and have an interest in all crafts.
In August 2020, I was re-elected as Chair of Hellaby Parish Council/ and will continue to work towards enhancing our village
