DRAWING.
What can you say about oil painting? Nothing special, craft is craft. But in general, easel painting, like any other creative work, completely depends on the viewer’s attitude towards the author-performer. Some will call him an artist, others a craftsman...

Finally, about the quality of painting. More precisely, about what painting is for the viewer. Namely: How can a mere mortal determine the quality of a painting?
It's difficult to simply answer this question. For us, quality is divided into three components. The first is the level of work performed by the master. This includes the quality of the material and technique. Second place is rightfully given to advertising the work itself or the person who performed it. Here the place of artistic value recedes into the background. Society’s assessment of the “importance of an author’s work” has little to do with the first point. Suffice it to recall the history of the “discovery” of Jaconda.
In third and main place is the quality of the viewer, the level of his knowledge, the level of education. As you know, even a simple understanding of art requires learning. And the more you want to enjoy getting to know painting, the more time you will have to spend on self-education.
Unlike music, painting affects the viewer through intellectual processing. And the viewer’s ability to evaluate the artist’s work depends on the level of intellectual and social development of the viewer.
However, there is an easy way to determine the quality of a painting. This method does not require special education or special skills. This method can be described by the following verbal instructions: to get a first idea of the artist’s skill, it is enough to make a qualitative comparison of the reproduction of his painting with the original. The higher the author's skill, the more superior the original is to the copy. And vice versa: the better the reproduction looks compared to the original, the less skill there is in the picture. Here's an approximate SO.
