Before CBS I worked briefly at ING, a brief assignment below my level, but I wanted to see where I stood. I was told I had had a psychosis NAO* in June 2010 while traveling through Russia and Mongolia. I was employed by VUMC at that time and started reintegrating in August 2010 at the same job at VUMC. In the beginning this went pretty well and quickly, because the reintegration was planned well. My annual contract was extended by 3 months. Unfortunately after those 3 months I wasn't fully working all the hours of my contract. And I didn't know at that time if I would ever have that energy again to work the hours of my contract. VUMC decided not to take any risks with me and not to renew my contract. Shortly afterwards my father (1945-2011) died (March 2011). After returning to The Netherlands I decided to take a job below my level to see if that would work in terms of energy.
*There are more diseases with the same symptoms and in my case the symptoms disappear with rest. Because I was not left alone or taken to the emergency room, there was already a bias in working. My advice is to go to all doctor's appointments alone and always connect with mental health professionals through your general practitioner or hodspital emergency department.
At ING I started working at a department that supervises employees on contracts, especially those who do not live in The Netherlands, but work in the Dutch offices part of the week or offices elsewhere in the world. It soon became clear that I knew my way around Access and Excel. I was allowed to create an Access database in which they could better map out how and what of the people who worked on a contract basis with ING worldwide.
