For Forum Institute in Utrecht I was occasionally an interviewer during my studies. All the interviews I did for them was on research about ethnicity. The interviews were with experts and the public. The public was surveyed at:
The ‘Zomercarnaval’ in Rotterdam before the start of the carnival
Kwaku festival when they were setting it up
On the streets of Lombok, Utrecht.
These surveys where in the form that I asked the questions on paper exactly and filled in the answers on the survey.
The experts on ethnicity research about how to solve problems related with ethnicity were interviewed in a different way. These interviews were conducted with a set of subjects and few starters’ questions about solving ‘Multikulti’ problems. I was free and encouraged to go deeper into the subject by asking questions that were related to the subject and relevant, but not on the list. I had to record these interviews.
Later on Forum Institute was merged with various other NGOs working on ethnicity.
