Laurels is the twice yearly, members-only online journal of the Tanka Society of America with guest editors that started in 2024. I do the layout for each issue, combining selected poems with photographs as part of my work as web manager for the Tanka Society of America website. The following are my poems in each of the issues so far, most recent first.
last day of summer
around the bend
on the woodland path
the voice of my son
finding Pokémon
spring breakup—
as if it mattered
what I think
of your painting
in the juried art show
security checkpoint—
I wonder if
the customs agent
enjoys this pat-down
as little as I do
the plaque on the courthouse
by the town square
records the high-water mark
as if we might one day learn
how to love again
