Another story in 100 one-syllable words

This is another story in 100 one-syllable words written without repeating a single word, cobbled together on 29 October 2012. Not previously published. I didn’t say it was a good story . . . but here it is. See also A story in 100 one-syllable words and Spam: Yet another story in 100 one-syllable words.

Came by dad’s store that fine blue-sky day with no goal on my mind but to see if she might be there. Yet Sam’s girl was not near the front, nor back at Joe’s great big tool shed. So how did we please our friends? Small tasks. Just past noon, nine cars had four new wheels, two shocks, and an oil gasket. A long wait made me tired. Next thing Jack thinks is where guys can park their rides. “Fred’s house,” I said, then took out five smokes for each time pop told us “Dudes, get your butts in gear.”
