Great indoor/outdoor museum in Durham. Great for all ages. Includes one of the East Coast’s largest butterfly conservatories; a nature park with bears, wolves and lemurs; a giant radio-controlled sailboat pond; a playground; and a railroad!
Exhibits covering local geology, plants, and animals, with temporary exhibits that have ranged from space to chocolate. Hands on, kids love it!
The Scrap Exchange is a nonprofit creative reuse center located in Durham. Their mission is to promote creativity, environmental awareness, and community through reuse. They offer a retail store, community events and workshops.
