Get the L'espion- tiny usb webcam, stv680 chipset and doesn't crash @ http://www.firebox.com . SpyCam 300XS (aka Aiptek) also work.
From a client, you should be able to access the webcam from a browser by going to http://192.168.xxx.1:10192/singleframe. (I have this working)
It may also be possible to access it from anywhere using http://1.x.x.x.mesh.wiana.org/singleframe where 1.x.x.x is the node's Wiana Certified IP address (I don't have this working)
You may be interested to know that I have got the L'espion webcam working over the internet using http://1.x.x.x.mesh.wiana.org:10192/singleframe
hints:-
If you want to see a webcam over the internet, but the http address above doesn't work because you are behind a firewall that restricts outgoing connections through port 10192 (eg. at work), then you can try some anonymous web proxys (eg. www.anonymization.net - unfortunately not all work!) to translate everything on to HTTP port 80:-
Enter http://www.anonymization.net in to your browser.
Enter 1.x.x.x.mesh.wiana.org:10192/singleframe in to the box and click "anonymous web surfing".
When setting up a webcam on your MeshBox, you need to make sure the internet can access port 10192 on your MeshBox. If your MeshBox is behind a NAT router, you will need to forward incoming connections to port 10192 on to your internal meshbox IP. If your MeshBox is behind a firewall that blocks incoming connections, you need to make sure your firewall has a suitable hole for incoming TCP data to port 10192.
Be aware that the 1.x.x.x.mesh.wiana.org name takes several minutes to adjust to a change in your MeshBox's internet IP address. You can avoid this trap while testing by replacing 1.x.x.x.mesh.wiana.org with the current internet IP address of your MeshBox.
