Can't Connect Wirelessly

Basic Troubleshooting

• • Has the client connected to the wireless network?

  • Has the client been assigned an IP address?

    • • Use ipconfig/all from a command prompt to see the network settings. The client should have an IP address in the range 192.168.x.x

  • Can the client ping the MeshAP?

    • • The MeshAP will have an IP address of 192.168.x.1 where your client address is 192.168.x.y

  • When going to a web page in a browser, do you get a splash page?

    • • If problem is with authentication, check out CantAuthenticate

  • If going to a numeric address, do you get a splash page?

    • • DNS is failing. Make sure the DNS is assigned automatically through DHCP. The DNS server needs to be the meshbox, as DNS requests beyond the meshbox will be blocked until the client is authenticated.
