Firewalling
Firewall settings are applied in relation to user class. By default higher classes of users don't get blocked. If you are using all 3 of the classes (guest, member, owner) to shape traffic on a commercial network, you may wish to remove the block on Public (Guest access). You may also choose specific ports to block, or leave all ports open, as in the example above.
Total block on incoming wired:
This locks down a wired LAN that is connected via the mesh, to make a high security firewalled connection.
Root password:
Set the root password here.
Privacy cipher:
You can use this value to secure the data on your mesh.
Allow PPTP clients:
Allows VPN connections from clients - see VpnClientInstructions
Enable 802.1x clients: Defaults to NO. It's recommended to leave this to NO, until further updates are made to this section detailing it's use.
Disable ethernet interface:
prevent any access via the ethernet port of a meshbox
Same node clients firewalled:
prevents clients connected to the same meshbox to access each other - enabled by default and most secure
Always block nodes:
Allow you to specify nodes that will always be blocked. This should only be used in dense meshes where marginal routes may form.
