Georgia O’Keeffe

Georgia O’Keeffe was born in Wisconsin in the year 1887, and died in 1986.  Even as a small child, she wanted to be an artist.  She was the most famous female American painter.  Georgia liked to paint flowers and skulls.  She met her best friend Anita in college in Texas.  She met and married Alfred Stieglitz who was a photographer and owned a gallery in New York City.  Spent summers in New Mexico and winters in New York.  She was most inspired by music.  She only painted what she saw and said it didn’t have any deeper meaning to it.
