FRECI Application

Welcome to the Flagler Renewable Energy Collaboration Initiative

The Mission of this movement is to better identify wasted potential, transfer that potential to useable energy and ensure the success of that transfer through behavior modification, lifestyle adaptation and consumer advocacy. This practice is not limited to the conventional means of energy conservation and fiscal constraint. It focuses on the hidden potentials that shape relationships and human capital through influence and motivation as they are changed by technology. This site is a premier approach to service learning education for families, traditional and non-traditional students and intended to:

· Profile opportunities and resources that promote frugal and rewarding lifestyles

· Identify current interstate and permitting barriers to micro-grid, smart-grid and net metering strategies in the State of Florida.

· Serve as a platform for field and case study research in applied and behavior sciences

· Excite and market a vibrant disaster relief element that highlights micro-grid energy education through simulation and enterprise as a collaboration of resources

· Compete for grant funding that does not interfere with existing programs in our area, but promotes their growth and promise as part of our effort to preserve our legacy and heritage, founded on our agricultural roots

· Promote adult education classes for household budgeting strategies and resource awareness.

· Promote enterprise with private industry to identify where cost barriers and emerging technologies overlap into solutions (smart grid)

· Develop enterprise with local businesses and agencies for barter, time banking and sweat equity energy home makeovers programs. This focus identifies renewable energy and energy conservation design, products and strategies through modeling simulation; education (STEM), social networking (RSS) and actualization (Serve and Learn).

· Through actuation, provide “watchdog” feedback to federal, state and local representatives on milestone and measures that reflect forces on energy commerce in the marketplace.

· Exert forces from that collected potential to shape the marketplace and promote economic growth.

This approach utilizes the current development and application of the FRECI EDEN project, WEB 2.0 environment simulation tools and a data base of plug and play UL appliances to create a micro-grid scheme that can an must adapt in order to be sustainable.

Our ancestors in Florida heated or cooled their homes by passive features of their environment... fundamentals that need to be preserved. The foundation our values are based on the need to preserve and fulfill the promise of our future. Let's start now by learning from the lessons of our culture and heritage, clinch our belts even tighter and work smarter to do more with less!
