Baxter and the Alien Computer

Alone for three centuries, Vincent the alien computer jumps on the chance to befriend the first living entity that wanders into his crashed spaceship. That just so happens to be Baxter, and Vincent makes good on his suggestion that they should be friends. He looks after Baxter from that point on and is loyal and patient with Baxter's degrading mind. He also, unfortunately, sees nothing wrong with revenge and tries repeatedly to help Baxter get it. His attempts to help Baxter become human again fail and eventually he is caught in an explosion on the Technodrome. Baxter believes him dead.

Baxter has a dilemma when he is finally returned to his human state. He never liked artificial intelligence before, but during his cross-fusion his first friend was a computer. After returning to normal, he struggles with whether Vincent is really the way he remembers or if he was really just an A.I. program.

He discovers at last that Vincent is still alive and is indeed the way he remembers. Not only is he then able to reestablish his friendship, but he is furious and hurt that Barney didn't tell him the computer was alright. He wants to take Vincent with him, but Vincent opts to stay behind, knowing that Baxter doesn't need him anymore but Barney does.

Vincent adores Baxter, considering him "the greatest guy in the universe," according to Son of Return of the Fly II. But although he initially hates Barney and encourages Baxter to take revenge on him, he comes to love Barney too.

Vincent still loves to share conversations with Baxter when he can, and now that Baxter is human and sane, they can have far better conversations than before. Vincent feels highly protective of both brothers and they have come to see him as a third brother.
