Leadership

• Supervise and mentor small-but-mighty instructional design team.
• Act as chair of the Distance Learning Committee at Bellin College. Revise and create policies related to distance education that support student success across all modalities.
• Developed Distance Learning Strategic Plan and handbook for distance learning faculty.
• Coordinate returning student orientation for the BSN program at Bellin College that takes place entirely online each summer. Expanding next summer to include all programs.
• Developed and continue to lead Zero Week initiative to provide students with early access to content they need to be successful on the first day of class.
• Developed Welcome Week initiative for faculty, expanding to all staff spring 2020. Provides team building, networking, training, and presentation opportunities for faculty (and staff).
• Supervised and mentored student workers through the internship program at College of Lake County. Required bi-monthy feedback and evaluation sessions, guidance, and focus on training both technical and soft skills necessary for workplace success. Received two outstanding achievement awards for supporting and promoting the program.

Instructional Design

• Extensive instructional design background including conducting needs analysis, project management, preparing storyboards and scripts, and working with subject matter experts to develop and assess courses and content that meet learning objectives and outcomes.
• I am also a Quality Matters Coordinator and have the Applying the QM Rubric certification.
• I believe assessment and feedback are critical to improvement.

Teaching

• Five years of experience as an Adjunct faculty member where I enjoyed fostering student engagement and applying instructional design and technology tools and techniques in the classroom.

Principal Trainer

• Principal trainer for Canvas LMS & Microsoft Office Suite (main focus on Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint).
• Extensive experience developing and facilitating technology training sessions for students, faculty, and staff, both one-on-one and in groups (face-to-face and online), on digital literacy topics such as Google Search and Apps, iPads in the Classroom, Cloud Storage, emerging technology, the Internet, and Blogging.
• Experience training, mentoring, and consulting with people of diverse backgrounds and varying skill levels. Enjoy helping people feel more confident with technology and cheerleading along the way.

LMS Administration

• Six years of experience as a Learning Management System administrator. Led a project to migrate from Moodle to Canvas LMS including coordination, implementation, and all end user training; efforts resulted in increased faculty adoption rate from 45% to 100%.
• Proficient with Blackboard, Moodle, and Canvas LMS course development and faculty support.
• I bring with me strong project management and marketing skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work requests from multiple individuals across the organization.

Customer Service & Technology Support

• Extensive experience researching, deploying, and integrating technology, resolving challenging technical issues, and translating technical concepts for less-technical users. Strong ability to assess, create, and organize information. Understand the appropriate use of technology can provide an enhancement to the learning experience and that sometimes, a low-tech approach may be the best solution to achieve learning outcomes.
• Two years experience with simulation lab technology and case scenario development in support of learning outcomes. Led massive project to incorporate the EPIC patient record environment at the bedside in our simulation lab so students gain necessary experience with the software prior to and in supplement of the clinical setting.

Web Administration

• Extensive Web administration and graphic design experience with understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, basic PHP and WordPress. Preference for editing in text-based editors, like Notepad ++, but can work in WYSIWYG editors.
• Before learning management systems were a big deal (circa 2000), I built courses from scratch using HTML, ColdFusion, and Photoshop as a student worker for the then fledgling Teaching & Learning Center at the College of Lake County.

Teamwork & Communication

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including over ten years of technical writing experience; collaborative and individual problem-solving and decision-making abilities with extensive experience working on, and leading, cross-functional teams.
• One of my key strengths is my ability to communicate effectively in a variety of mediums including print, web, presentations, and public speaking.
