Three key points to remember about peer response
This is not a debate
The purpose is to help one another
Use "I" statements
As you read your colleague’s writing, please respond in writing in the following ways:
Point out those parts of the writing that catch your attention. Maybe you are impressed by a vocabulary word; maybe there is an intriguing idea in the writing; maybe there is an excellent description or something that made you feel strongly in some way; maybe there is a sentence that you really like, but you don’t even know why. Whatever you notice in a positive way, explain that in the comment at the end.
What would you change if this was your draft? Write a note about that at the end of the draft in the comment.
Make one comment about the structure of the draft. Focus on the paragraphs and thinking about the analytical paragraph structure. Write a note about that at the end of the draft in the comment.
