World Events

The following are large scale world events that occurred in the History of Tedas. Some are natural (floods, earthquakes, the Great Change) and some are man made (wars, political events, etc.).

Natural Events

The Jeto Dehokal (Great Change)

At the end of the Ko Ganaoth ("Year to Awaken") and shortly after the Great Whisper (see Cha Ti history), there was an event that occurred called the Great Change.

The Great Change is what introduced devefa (magic, manipulation of the world or self) or the hard to explain. Some of the changes that affected each race are as follows.

• The Kaindra were given some manipulation of air to ease flight. Before this they were mostly gliders relying on climbing to heights and feeling the air.
• The Cha Ti were given a natural ability over various aspects of sounds. Specifically the sounds that emanated from themselves. Amplification is one example.
• Sometimes it's thought that the Nikal are actually manifestations of the great change itself. Historical evidence of their existence prior to this time is a little sketchy.
• The Nym are also rumored to be a manifestation of the great change also but given the sparse information it's unclear at this time as well.
• The Tedani in general received various changes based on the original aspects given to the 5 Fiab:
  • Cyme - can communicate with anything. They can manipulate elements, command them to do things that they don't normally do. Forms of communication go in this order of powerfulness:
    • Verbal
    • Somatic (Body Movement)
    • Mental
  • Jop - can combine and create elements, including alchemy.
  • Narah - can inspire living things and alter their demeanor.
  • Rian - can have mental abilities of a telepathy nature.
  • Roksha - can create illusions and conceal things. They can also see the truth behind illusions and concealment. This has extended as far as having night vision (thefom).

How this Change occurred varies according to the the race, and more so within the Tedani. AN example is that for the Cha Ti, the Great Whisper spoke to their leader and anointed called individuals for the change. The Great Change did not and does not affect every person of the race with the exception of the Kaindra and the Cyme.

Discovery of the Posil Pejua (Lightning Stone)

Edit notes: this is like the fossil fuel of Tedas, it's a crystal like stone that has a naturally high electrical charge and can be recharged with lightning. There are 3 types: positive charge, negative charged and dual charged. Dual charged are the rarest and most valuable. The positive and negative charged ones are used together to create an electrical spark. The P and N stones can last about 10 years without needing a recharge. Life span is halved each time it's been recharged. Dual charged can last about 200 years. Shaping the stones is done the same way any other rock or hard gem. A stone about the size of a dime could power a small town. Exponential output of energy is based on size. The P and N stone must be the same size or the energy output is inconsistent and can lead to dangerous explosions, etc.
