Tedani
When greeting someone or saying good bye it is customary to place the fingers of the left hand in front of the fingers on the right hand and make either inward (hello, "koa" or "ko") or outward (good bye, "pao" or "pa") motion. This is the equivalent of waving and can be done with or without spoken words.
When pointing, two fingers (pointer/index and middle) are used if what they are pointing at is uncertain. For example, if you would ask where your keys are at and the responding person would point with two fingers in the direction they think the keys are in. If there is certainty in what they are pointing at, all fingers are used to point.
Why is it Tedani and not Tedasi? There needed to be a difference between the two words, otherwise the people of this place would be called "dirts". It's similar to Earth vs. Earthlings, or Dirtlings, or Groundlings. It is also a word that is never singularized, it is always plural. You'll never see or hear them called Tedan.
