What's the real name of the place?

Red's place was Twist, yes (1960 forward)? Before that, Freez? Certainly after that, Treat, by way of the traitors...

The misty shrouds of days of yore envelope questions of identity, accuracy, and memory. Let's see if we can set the record straight.

In 2010, the State News published an article on the beloved ice creamery (no controversy about that!) on Grand River close to Hagadorn. But note, dear readers, that's an op ed piece.

I turned to Google for a definitive narrative, and up popped a web site on which, if you scroll down a bit on the landing page, you'll find the shoppe we remember (I provided a screen capture, below). This site suggests it once was a Tastee Freez, although... as I said, misty shrouds.

Anyone have any better data? Anyone???? How about a clincher, a photo with the date on the bottom. You remember those, right?
