A professorship in his name...
Dear Friends,
It's not every day we come across someone that makes a profound difference in our lives, For many of
us, that person is Dr, Eric Bates,
Eric is a model for what being a great physician entails - his exemplary bedside manner combined with
his clinical skill and passion for his patients is something every doctor aspires to be. As a supportive
colleague and friend, he's without comparison. As a mentor and teacher, he has been a role model for
generations of cardiologists.
Today, we are thrilled to share our plans with you. At the University of Michigan, we âre launching the
Eric R. Bates Professorship in Cardiovascular Medicine in Eric's honor. A professorship repreients
the highest honor for the person for whom it is named and, also, for the person who has thä privilege to
hold the professorship years into the future. At an academic medical cente¡ a named profesiorship"is
the very highesthonor a faculty member can achieve and we're thrilled to share our plans with you.

And, by happenstance, this is post # 68 in the collection of "all the news". Fitting.
