50th Reunion of the ELHS Class of 1968

Fellow classmates, the time is upon us! Our 50-year reunion is just around the corner, and your committee has finalized all the plans for an exciting weekend of fun and reminiscing. As explained below, it is also time to send in your check for the Saturday dinner.

Our reunion will be held during the weekend of August 17-19. The festivities will begin Friday night with a mixer from 6pm to 9:30pm at the Dublin Square Restaurant in East Lansing (cash bar, some hors d'oeuvres provided). Then, Saturday morning there will be a guided tour of the high school from 10am to 11:30am followed by a luncheon get together at Reno's East Sports Bar from noon to 2pm (cost on your own; group seating). The big event will be dinner and dancing at the MSU University Club starting with a social hour at 6pm and continuing until the dance floor is empty (advance payment required). The reminiscing continues on Sunday morning during a brunch from 10am to 2pm at the Coral Gables Restaurant (cost on your own; group seating). Also, for those interested in golfing, Lee Ann Cushion has kindly agreed to be the contact person, with options for tee times throughout the weekend. Her email is rainvilleroad@att.net.

IMPORTANT: Reservations need to be made for the Saturday dinner at the UClub, and you can do so by sending a check for $61 per person, to arrive by August 12, to:

ELHS Class of 1968

PO Box 326

DeWitt, MI 48820-7720

Checks should be made payable to "ELHS Class of 1968". Also, if you would please put the name of your guest on the check, we can make sure we have a nametag for them. We have collected some names already on our preliminary head count survey, but want to make sure we have it right.

Note that the $61 fee includes the dinner and other incidental costs for reunion events. No reservations or advance payments are required for any of the events other than the Saturday dinner. Your committee has tried to maximize the time for conversation and catching-up, while keeping costs to a minimum.

The schedule for the University Club is 6pm cash bar/social hour; 7pm buffet dinner; 8pm-ish short program followed by a DJ, general merriment, and frivolity. There will be memorabilia displays and a “sharing table” where you can put news articles, business cards, photos, letters, brochures or other items of interest about yourself or anyone else in our class.

Our University Club menu for Saturday night is a dinner buffet detailed below. Special dietary requests can be accommodated by simply emailing Nancy Luther Danhof at nancydanhof@gmail.com.
