Wow, almost a year since I've updated. Many changes...
"Aja" is now berthed in South Beach Harbor (ATT Park in SF) . I took on a partner to get the slip but he and his wife have become good friends with me/mine in the process, so that was a good trade no matter how you slice it. South Beach is centrally located in the San Francisco Bay, and so virtually everything is "in range". Have even slipped out the Gate a couple of times.
Boat has been working very well for the last year - I think in part that why I haven't updated - many of my posts were to jot down lessons-learned.
Battery woes have settled down - don't ever, ever get suckered into 48V chargers. Use independent (i.e. 4-bank or separate chargers) charging.
Just installed a new Genius 4-bank 40-amp charger (see above) that I got a great deal on via eBay.
Need a haulout - badly. So will probably so some redesign of the physical installation/mounting. That remains the only "gotcha" in the system.
I think the bearings in my motor may be starting to go. The lack of proper tensioning in my mounting is probably taking it's toll (plus...3 years near saltwater likely not helping)
