Multiple positions are available for an ICTR&D funded project titled “Design and development of Intelligent Mobile Robots (IMRs) for disaster mitigation and firefighting”. Applicants are expected to work on the design of collaborative control algorithms for multiple mobile robots, SLAM for map building of the unknown terrain, image and data processing for intelligent decision making etc. The applicants should have a strong working knowledge of implementing advanced control and signal processing algorithms on real systems using C/C++. The applicants should be well versed in Matlab/C++ and have a strong background in Control theory, Advance Engineering Maths  and Algorithm Design. The selected applicants will be expected to publish in top ranking journals and international conferences. 

PhD student Requirements

Vacancy: 02 PhD students 

a)    Should have completed MS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or related discipline with good grades with specialization in (Control System, Robotics, Adaptive Systems, Algorithm Design etc.)

b)    Solid mathematical background and good programming skills

c)    Excellent communication skills in English.

d)    A record of good publications is highly desirable.

e) Must fulfill all HEC requirements for PhD admission.

Research Assistant Requirement

Three research assistants (RA) are required having MS degree in the field of Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering and 01 year experience in the relevant field. 02 RAs will work on the design of electronic circuitry for the robot, basic communication between the agents, develop robot simulations in Matlab and other commercially available tools and implementation of control algorithm on the hardware platform. 01 RA will work on SLAM for multiple robots. 

Project Team Lead Requirement

One Project Team Lead is required having MS degree in the field of Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering with 04 years of relevant experience. The project team lead will maintain a strong co-ordination between all the stake holders. The applicant will be responsible for integrating all the modules into a complete working system. The applicant should possess strong interpersonal skills both oral and written.
