Investigating Human Rights, Civil Society and Diversity in Japan and Australia

SALP is a 4-credit research-based study abroad programme, built on relationships with universities, community groups, NGOs and human rights advocates. It includes an autumn semester pre-departure course at Chuo and fieldwork in Japan, plus two weeks of fieldwork and other activities in Sydney in February and March, in which participants learn about indigenous rights, refugees and migrants, and gender and sexual diversity/equality in Japan and Australia.

The Chuo Law 'Investigating Diversity, Human Rights and Civil Society' programme is organised in co-ordination with the Faculty of Law at the University of New South Wales.

The programme gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Australia-Japan Foundation for the pilot program in 2013/14.
