• 1. WHAT IS IT?

  2. It's a system designed to simulate a menstrual cycle, with the added features of pregnancy, gestation, and risk factors. Variables like egg viability, length of cycle, level of fertility, etc are also included. It's a roleplay tool designed to focus on realistic risk of pregnancy, yet give you the ability to configure it to fit your rp/character needs and scenarios. Risk/chances of pregnancy are calculated not only by configuration, but also by actions of BOTH partners. Some of the configuration features are the ability to set and customize day length, cycle length, fertility, increased chances of multiple births, and condom effectiveness or mishaps. There are others features explained in more detail in the instruction notecard.

  3. WILL IT MAKE MY AVATAR'S TUMMY GROW OR 'TALK'?

  4. No and Yes.

  5. SL viewers don't permit direct changing of your avatar's shape. All this does is provide the female avatar with a realistic "cycle" and a risk factor for pregnancy; with the added factor of the male participation and contributing to the risk factors. Some may say "whats the point?" Yes, you can just RP being pregnant or getting pregnant, but just like combat meters or other such devices it provides a "roll-of-the-dice" factor in which you are not in full control of the outcome, and for some that is exciting and fun.

  6. HOWEVER, you can create shapes that can be automatically worn when you reach different points in your pregnancy. See Shape Changing for details.

  7. MUST BOTH PARTNERS WEAR A HUD?

  8. Yes. If your mate is not wearing a HUD you will not conceive. Your HUD will detect other users in the area available for possible mating, adding a little glow to the heart of the opposite sex on your HUD. When someone would like to mate with you, you have the option to accept or decline, or you can initiate the offer. There is also a setting for partners that allows you to skip that question, and RLV functions for submissives that remove the option of accepting or declining coupling.

  9. ARE THE HUDS GENDER SPECIFIC?

  10. Yes, HUDs are specific to male, female and hermaphrodite, and there are various settings that you can configure too to simulate non-human cycles. The HUD will also detect orgasm with some of the more popular scripted genitals (like Xcite), but you can also click the HUD and manually simulate an orgasm. Important: No male orgasm, no pregnancy.

  11. CAN I BE ON THE PILL?

  12. Yes, although an actual "pill" is not provided. Unlike other HUD's that provide 100% protection by being "on the pill" we felt this was unrealistic and voids all risk and the need to wear a HUD in the first place. To simulate taking oral contraceptives you can set your fertility to 1%, a more realistic risk factor, as in real life "the pill" is 99% effective. So YOU CAN get pregnant, but the chances are slim. Using the fertility configuration you can also simulate using other contraceptives, for example a diaphragm, so you can set your fertility to a number that suits you.

  13. HOW EFFECTIVE ARE CONDOMS?

  14. The effectiveness of a condom is variable. Did he buy the "economy" condoms, or the "good" ones? Did he put it on in a hurry or carefully? There is also another bit of realism added in that the box of condoms must be rezzed and a condom obtained in order to put it on. Condoms are available at the in-world store or in the Marketplace.

  15. IS THERE A "PATERNITY TEST" AVAILABLE?

  16. Yes. There are two ways. For a paternity test the "Father" must register at the main store, pay a fee of 19L to keep his records on file for three months, and give his consent to specificly-named women. Otherwise, when the baby is "born" the message will say "Look a little like Firstname Lastname"

  17. The other way is to have another user perform an exam using the Physician's HUD.

  18. IS THERE A DOCTOR'S HUD/BAG?

  19. Yes, there is a Physician's HUD available that will give the 'doctor' much more information on the patient's state, cycle, etc. For example, it will detect fertility and/or pregnancy even if the patient doesn't know she's pregnant yet. It will also perform paternity testing.

  20. HOME PREGNANCY TEST?

  21. Yes. Home pregnancy tests are available at the in-world store or the marketplace. They come in 3 to a "pack". However, keep in mind that they are NOT 100% reliable, and, depending on the stage, can yield "false negatives".

  22. CAN A PREGNANCY BE TERMINATED?

  23. Yes. Though it was not the intention during the creation of this system, we do understand that in realistic roleplay there are more realistic outcomes to a pregnancy. A physician wearing a HUD can terminate a pregnancy or induce labor, which depending on the stage can determine the likelihood of a live birth or stillborn. There are also other commands which you can use to reset the female cycle. If you are using contexts, you can delete

  24. I SCREWED UP MY SETTINGS, WHAT DO I DO NOW?

  25. For a female, click on your HUD, select "womb" and then Default. This will set your HUD back to the Default cycle settings. Doing this will NOT terminate a pregnancy.

Quick Start

Okay, I got it, so what do I do now?

For starters wear your HUD, let it initialize, etc. For the male HUD the blue heart will fill in, for the female, the pink heart. If you have the Hermaphrodite HUD you must assign an operating gender. Like in real life, things are a little more complicated for females than males.

For males you simply wear it, couple, condom/no condom-placed carefully or in a hurry.

For females you have a few more options described in more detail in the instruction notecard, but the basic and most used are:

DAY LENGTH: The default setting for this is 3 SL Days = 1 RL Day. So as a human you will cycle roughly every 10 RL days. You can change this by selecting one of the other preset buttons on the HUD. For some, if you are human, this is enough to set a pace more compatible with your RP needs or personal likes.

CYCLE LENGTH: You can change the length of the cycle. The default is the human female 28 days, give or take. If you are not human, you are probably more knowledgeable about cycle length for your specific species, and you can set that here.

SUBMISSIVE: By selecting this your HUD will automatically accept all requests to couple, and you cannot decouple unless you initiated the coupling.
