The Discovery feature allows Deciduan users to find other Deciduan users. To protect privacy, this is an opt in feature, and you will not appear in search results until you do so.
If you'd like to be discoverable, click your HUD to get the main menu and select the "Discovery" option. You'll initially see only two options: Search and Discover. A check box next to the Discover button indicates whether you are discoverable; just click the button to toggle it on or off. When it's on, you can also select whether your current location will appear in others' search results (this is also off by default). A third option ("Status") will be available soon, and allow others to see your HUD's condition (e.g., fertile, etc.).
If you use different contexts on your HUD, be aware that opt-in is specific to each context. So, you can couple this with automatic context changes to automatically enable and disable your visibility. See Contexts for more information on this. Contexts are not recommended for new users.
Clicking the Search button on the Discovery menu will query the server and report the names (and, possibly, locations) of opposite-gendered Deciduan users who've opted into discovery and were online within the last 15 minutes. Due to how SL clients display viewer URLs (which allows names and locations to automatically pull up profiles or the map), you'll want to have your local chat window visible. This is a very simple feature right now and is text only. An alternate search results viewer is already in development.
When the results display, a new dialog will appear which will allow you to page forward and backward through the results (a "page" is up to seven [7] results).
Note that if you're a Herm HUD user, the results will show female users if your HUD is in male mode, and vise versa.
